DESCRIPTION:Come on down for the launch of a brand new season of WORD! at Attenborough Arts Centre – kicked off in style with Clothes Swap followed by Clothes Swap Story Shop. \nCo-curated with Cathi Rae\, a poet\, campaigner against ageism and body positive model\, this event will feature a clothes swap to bring in your old clothes and swap them for new items. Community building and environmentally friendly\, get fashionable while being sustainable! \nThe event is followed by Clothes Swap Story\, a drop-in poetry workshop and spoken word open mic. Bring your clothing\, poems\, tops and tales\, and take away more. \nThe afternoon will be headlined by a live performance at 3pm\, featuring Cathi\, alongside other artists to be announced. \nIf you would like to share poetry or spoken word on the open mic email hello@wordpoetry.co.uk – material exploring clothes and the international sustainable themes of the event is particularly welcome. \nFor the clothes swap please bring up to 10 items of good quality stuff – and take home up to 10 items to upgrade your wardrobe.. \n  \nRecommended Price: £3 \n  \nWhat are ‘Pay What You Can’ tickets?\nWe believe that that arts should be accessible for all. For this reason some of our shows and events this year will be ‘Pay What You Can’\, meaning that you decide how much you can or want to pay. This expands access to the arts for those who may not have been able to participate otherwise\, or gives others the chance to support those who cannot by paying a bit extra. \nYou will see multiple prices available for each show or event. You can select whichever price you can afford or would like to pay – thank you. \n

SUMMARY:Apittame Arts presents Acting Workshops: Pilot Series
DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re returning to acting\, trying it out for the first time\, or just looking for a creative outlet—this is a space for you. \nJoin us for a brand-new series of acting workshops designed to be exploratory\, low-pressure\, and collaborative. Across six fortnightly sessions\, participants will explore acting techniques\, ensemble-building\, and creative expression in a warm and inclusive environment. \nThis pilot series is a chance to try things out\, get to know one another\, and shape what a longer-term programme could become. There’s no pressure to perform—just space to play\, connect\, and build confidence. Sessions are open to anyone aged 18+\, regardless of experience. Each one is led by a team of passionate local creatives and facilitators committed to making theatre more accessible and community-driven. \nFirst session on 6 September is free\, pay what you can after that. Come along\, bring a friend\, and see what it’s all about! \n  \nParticipant Feedback – Creative Writing Workshop (Spring 2025): \n“Amazing\, inclusive environment.
