DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re returning to acting\, trying it out for the first time\, or just looking for a creative outlet—this is a space for you. \nJoin us for a brand-new series of acting workshops designed to be exploratory\, low-pressure\, and collaborative. Across six fortnightly sessions\, participants will explore acting techniques\, ensemble-building\, and creative expression in a warm and inclusive environment. \nThis pilot series is a chance to try things out\, get to know one another\, and shape what a longer-term programme could become. There’s no pressure to perform—just space to play\, connect\, and build confidence. Sessions are open to anyone aged 18+\, regardless of experience. Each one is led by a team of passionate local creatives and facilitators committed to making theatre more accessible and community-driven. \nFirst session on 6 September is free\, pay what you can after that. Come along\, bring a friend\, and see what it’s all about! \n  \nParticipant Feedback – Creative Writing Workshop (Spring 2025): \n“Amazing\, inclusive environment. I felt free to share my thoughts without judgement. The prompts given were inspiring and made it easy to put pen to paper.” \n“Great session—it helped me to think about what I want to write and improve my creative writing skills. I liked the vibe—it was relaxing.” \n“Supportive atmosphere\, lively facilitator. Interesting & productive prompts. Very enjoyable.” \n“Thought-provoking and fun/inviting.” \n“I would have liked a longer session… more opportunity to talk and share. Loved the open way in which we were guided.” \n  \nRecommended Price: £10 \nAge Guidance: 18+ \n  \nWhat are ‘Pay What You Can’ tickets?\nWe believe that that arts should be accessible for all. For this reason some of our shows and events this year will be ‘Pay What You Can’\, meaning that you decide how much you can or want to pay. This expands access to the arts for those who may not have been able to participate otherwise\, or gives others the chance to support those who cannot by paying a bit extra. \nYou will see multiple prices available for each show or event. You can select whichever price you can afford or would like to pay – thank you. \n

John is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and his work appears in an AQA anthology for GCSE English Literature. SUMMARY:Taylormade Studios presents ‘Infectious: Part One: Mad About The Boy’ and Directors Q&A
DESCRIPTION:‘What do they see when they see you?’ – the question asked by Vidal Montgomery’s debut short film ‘Infectious’. \nInspired by the poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks and the artistry of Allesandra Seutin\, Infectious is a jazz soul poetry film about emotional wellbeing and sensually transmitted dependency in diaspora. \nThe film is a soulful collection of tone poems featuring amazing artists Lacey Adigwu\, Caroline Archer\, and Randolph Matthews who bring a Nubian aesthetic to the issue of emotional wellbeing in diaspora\, and explore the relationship between art\, collectivism and therapy\, to make a work of art about the healing power of art. \nThe film will be followed by a Q&A with the Director and cast and crew\, exploring perspectives of culture as the immune system of a people and the transformations that happen to people when they share their stories with strangers. \nThen a live performances featuring ‘After 4 Women – ‘Mad About the Girls but Still We Rise”\, a sharing from the earlier MULTiTRiBE workshop. A creative exploration inspired by Nina Simone’s famous song\, ‘Four Women’ through conversation and art: transforming Black female stereotypes to reframe\, reclaim and uplift ourselves\, invoking powerful archetypes. SUMMARY:Deaf Artist-led BSL Tour of We Grown-Ups Can Also Be Afraid
DESCRIPTION:Join Deaf artist Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq on a BSL Tour of ‘We Grown Ups Can Also Be Afraid’– an exhibition that takes its name from the Swedish nursery rhyme that features in the show. \nDrawn from the David and Indrė Roberts Collection\, one of the UK’s foremost private art collections\, the exhibition encompasses sculpture\, works on canvas\, moving image and installation. The artists represented in the exhibition respond to these themes in very different ways\, but their practices are connected by a sustained engagement with globally important issues that can often feel too big and too difficult for us to think about. They collect\, build\, stitch\, carve\, burn\, staple\, break and put back together many different materials to shape works that speak about their concerns. \nThis is not an exhibition about art and activism. The artists represented may not consider their work as a form of political activism – indeed\, there is no sense that we are being lectured to or told what to think. Instead\, it seems that we are being invited to direct our attention to something urgently important\, to look more closely at the world as it is now. \nRubbena will be leading the tour in British Sign Language (BSL) capturing the curator’s insight into the exhibitions for the participants. A BSL Interpreter will also attend. \nThis friendly tour is free\, and open to everyone. The tour will be Deaf-led and tailored for Deaf audiences. \n  \nAbout Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq\nRubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq is a London based painter and installation artist. She has exhibited internationally in New York\, South Korea\, Canada\, Paris\, Sweden and the UK.
